Hello my fellow Sirens! I'm here today to inform you all of a new competition taking place from now till January 19th, MLK Day! All the entries of the competition have a chance to be used as characters in the story of the Silent Sirens (more info on that later), and the grand winner of the competition will also be receiving a fabulous prize of 600 points!
What the contest is about:
This contest is about designing a specific category of characters for the fanfic story of the Silent Sirens; namely, new Celestial Spirits. For those who need a quick refresher on what Celestial Sprits are, you can get a read-up on this link:
fairytail.wikia.com/wiki/Celes…
As you may know, all Celestial Spirits are based off of constellations or stars (usually the brightest of their constellation). However, there are two important categories you can base your Celestial Spirit off of. The first would be to base your Spirit off of an unused constellation or star. The second, however, would be to completely redesign one of the canonical Celestial Spirits!
Further details:
"What?!" Some of the hardcore Fairy Tail fans may ask. "Celestial Spirits are immortal and never retire from their position!" That is a good point! Why would there be new versions of Celestial Spirits when they are supposed to be eternal? Well for those ok with spoilers, I'll explain that in the the simplest way possible. The story of the Silent Sirens takes place 32 years after the beginning of the story of Fairy Tail. At a certain point during those span of years, the original Celestial Spirit King passed away, and his son Sirius took up his role as ruler of the Celestial Realm. Sirius' first degree as the new king of Celestial Spirits, was for all previous Spirits to seek out a predecessor.
"A new day and age has ushered forth. With the death of my late father, a tragic time of loss has swept over the heavens, and also a great wave of change. As of today, I am the new king of this realm, yet this is only the first of many changes to take place in Celestial Realm during my rule. And the next is this... The reason why I have summoned all the Celestial Spirits to my halls is simple; for as of today, you are all to be retired from your role in the heavens. Your final duty to your king is to find a suitable successor to your previous title. As the next Celestial Spirit King I shall rewrite the heavens themselves, and the stars shall shine anew." -Sirius
With that in mind, remember that your design for a Celestial Spirit, be they completely original or a replacement for one of the past Spirits, has a variety of forms you could chose to design them as. Celestial Spirits from Fairy Tail took on numerous shapes and sizes, human, anthro, beastly, robotic, inanimate objects come to life, it's reasonable to say that anything is fair game! However it's important to bear in mind that if any designs come off as overly offensive or otherwise unethical in some manner, they will not be included in the story.
One last thing to note! While you don't have to design a key to go along with your spirit, that might indeed score you some bonus points for a thought-out design!
Things to keep in mind:
*Sirius, the brightest star in Canis Major and the entire night sky, is already represented as the new Celestial Spirit King. Although appearing like an ordinary and young human being, Sirius is more powerful than any other Celestial Spirit. And although not as experienced as his late father, he is noted to have more natural power and talent. Sirius comes off as completely confident in himself and usually unfazed by the events to happen around him.
*Canis Major and Canis Minor are represented as guard dogs that sit at each side of Sirius' throne. The larger of the two looks somewhat similar in appearance to Mike from Hunter X Hunter; though it's unstated which dog is which as both are simply referred to as "Canis".
*There is no need for an adaptation of Leo or Leo Minor, though if you would like to make a silver Celestial Spirit Key for him, that would be appreciated.
*When using symbols for non-Zodiac constellations, I recommend you go off this set:

*By entering you agree to be ok with your design being used for the Silent Sirens story, even if you do not win the contest.

Dragon Slayer Art Request?
As of recently we've finally come up with basic designs, powers, and stories for the 7 Dragon Slayers of our series. Though most of them have not been fully drawn yet, it's only a matter of time till they are completed. When we have references for all 7 Dragon Slayers is there anyone who would like to draw them all side by side?

That's it. Have fun!
Celestial Spirits Contest Winner (change of plans)
Due to the unexpectedly low amount of votes we received last week to determine the winner of the Celestial Spirits contest, I have decided to go through all the entries myself and pick a worthy winner based off aspects of creativity, skill, and design.
For the winning entry of the contest I have chosen...
Celestial Spirit Ophiuchus by AndromedaThePrincess

While there were many great entires into the contest, I loved Andromeda's intriguing and yet awesome design for the Serpent Holder constellation. Still, I have to admit it was a close call. That wraps up this c
What are the Silent Sirens?
"What exactly are the the 'Silent Sirens'?" some of you may ask. Well the Silent Sirens in this context can refer to both the name of the story, and the guild it focuses on. The story, as some of you may know, is actually a fan fiction based off the manga and anime series Fairy Tail; yet on terms of fan fiction, the Silent Sirens story is actually very original. For starters, the setting of the Silent Sirens starts 32 years after the beginning of the events to start in the first episode of Fairy Tail. Secondly, the location of focus has shifted from the continent of Earth Land, where the events of Fairy Tail unfolded, to the south western con
